Millennials stepped into adulthood expecting effort to translate into security. Instead, they encountered stalled wages, rising costs, and institutions that no longer buffered risk. The traditional career path did not collapse overnight. It eroded slowly, through policies, pricing, and expectations that stopped matching reality. What feels like rejection is often adaptation. Many millennials are not opting out of work. They are navigating around structures that no longer support basic life building, let alone long term stability.
